Idaho Hunting Almanac
The 1997 edition of the IDAHO HUNTING ALMANAC is now available.
The book is published by the Post Company in Idaho Falls. Its current edition gives all the details of the 1996 big game hunting season: number of applicants for each hunt, success rates, antler sizes, biologists insights, controlled hunt information, forecasts, entertaining and informative articles and stories, and yes, some advertising. There’s just no way to provide a continual flow of such valuable information, folks, without a little help from our commercial friends.
Regional information is provided on species, trends, current conditions, geography, locations for game, contacts for more information, and lots of exciting black & white photographs of game. Idaho big game species detailed in this big book of 176 pages are: Deer, Elk, Bear, Moose, Sheep, Cougar, Mountain Goat, Antelope.
Some interesting articles in this new 1997 issue: "Poachers Describe How, Why They Poach," by Rob Thornberry; "A Lifetime of Lessons Pays Off for One Hunter," by Darren Huntsman; "Hunters Can Chase All Eight Species in Region 7 (Salmon Region)," by Rob Thornberry; "Elk, deer populations continue to grow in Region 5 (Southeast)," by Dave Fields.
