On Anti-Hunting Groups ・・
As I see it...

Hunting methods are a balance of tradition, common sense, practicality, ecology, science. The end result is that some animals die -- according to what biologists consider to be reasonable rules and regulations. The death of the animal is what anti-hunting groups are really trying to stop -- not what is reasonable for the times, for ecological balance, not what is best for the species, or what the voting majority requests. It is the principal they・re fighting for. It is true in some sense that they don・t really care about the animals.

We know that without proper management, these animals live harsher lives, die crueler deaths. We know the ecological systems of the earth are too complicated now to leave to chance. Man must be the steward wherever he lives of all things wild and natural to the best of his ability and intelligence.

There is no ethical method of hunting in the eyes of animal-rights and anti-hunting groups. To them, man must not kill -- even for the sake of the species or the planet.

For now, there is no middle ground of understanding for us and them, unfortunately. Someday we hope there will be. Knowledge in this area will continue to grow and what makes sense for the good of all will "out." Part of that knowledge will be what we・ve tried to explain to these opposing groups about a deeper connection to nature and all its facets, including killing for our food, and for management. Our foes do not believe in killing an animal for any reason, by any method.
